What can you unpack?
This is the season when it can be difficult to enjoy the journey while pursuing passionate purpose. An uneasy feeling of anxiety centered in my stomach is the signal that something needs to change for me. Perhaps you also are juggling overly ambitious personal and professional to-do lists in the quest toward your dreams. It can get so stressful that productivity plummets along with joy. What to do?
It’s time to use the Pack Strategy: “Pack energizers and remove hindrances for the journey.”
Okay, so here is my packing list. I pledge to pack deep relaxing breaths, daily stretching, and more exercise. Most importantly, I am unpacking unrealistically high expectations. When I really dig deep inside, I also find certain fears need to be left behind. Now the question is how to do this. The answer lies within one’s self (and, of course, with the book, Pursuit of Passionate Purpose.)
What about you? What should you pack for your pursuits and what do you need to leave behind?
Practical Pointers
Here are a few of the many proven “Pack Strategy” suggestions found in Pursuit of Passionate Purpose:
- Face and name. Become aware of the discouraging forces that burden you. Identity and name them so it is easier for you to overcome them.
- Cultivate. Choose the strongest hindrance and cultivate the opposite quality.
- Modify. Determine an antidote to dissolve this force or transform it into an energizer.
12th Practice of Prosperity
